On March 9, 2022, the two new LFMPA science rooms were inaugurated by the Ambassador of France to Nigeria and Professor Ekanem BRAIDE, President of the Nigerian Academy of Sciences.

As part of International Women's Day and in order to encourage our female students to become more involved in scientific careers, the names of two illustrious female scientists were attributed to these two laboratories:

Prof (Mrs) Ekanem Braide
Mrs. Barré-Sinoussi, 2008 Nobel Prize winner.
